news-category: Campus News èͷ Announces New Model for Obtaining Textbooks and Course Materials By Office of University Communications On June 13, 2022 ‘Bulldog Bundle’ Reduces the Cost, Delivers all Materials Before the First Day of Class BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—èͷ University is moving to a new course material model. “The Bulldog Bundle” will reduce the cost of textbooks and course materials, such as study guides, case studies, workbooks and other items, while ensuring students have all their materials across all courses before the first day of class. “One great benefit of the Barnes and Noble textbook program is our ability to significantly reduce the textbook costs for our students,” praised Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Karen Aubrey, “And students will find the online format especially convenient.” Instead of purchasing items a la carte, “The Bulldog Bundle” is billed as a flat fee of $360 to all full-time Traditional Undergraduate Students on their bill. For those part-time and hourly billed programs (Degree Completion Program and Graduate, excluding Divinity and Physician Assistant) it is a $24 per credit hour charge. The Campus Shop will provide each student with a convenient package for physical books. Digital materials will be delivered directly to Blackboard, the University’s Learning Management System. “It is our desire at èͷ to ensure that our students are prepared to academically succeed with the necessary textbooks and materials on the first day of class,” noted Vice President of Finance and Administration Tim Shuey. “We want to remove the barriers to obtaining course textbooks and materials, while doing so economically.” How “The Bulldog Bundle” works: Students register for classes. Beginning one month before classes start, students will receive an email instructing them to review their courses and choose shipping or in-store pickup. (This email will come from the Campus Shop partner at email.bncollege.com, not from GWU directly.) The Campus Shop will prepare and package course materials. Students will receive an email notification when their order is ready for pickup at the Campus Shop or when it ships, depending on their selection. Digital materials will be delivered within Blackboard. At the end of the semester when courses are over, the Campus Shop will send students helpful reminder emails to return their rental course materials. If a student opts out of the “Bulldog Bundle,” they can choose to purchase or rent all required course materials directly from the Campus Shop.
