Grammy winning Artists Headline a Patriotic Program Celebrating American Composers, Veterans, and GWU鈥檚 New President Nate Evans

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥擨nfluenced early by American fiddle traditions and later shaped by classical training, Mark O鈥機onnor鈥檚 music reflects the full scope of America鈥檚 musical heritage. On April 27 at 7 p.m. in Dover Theatre, his unique musical talent comes to Gardner鈥慦ebb University as the GWU Orchestra presents 鈥淎merica at 250! A Celebration!鈥 The concert features O鈥機onnor and his wife, violinist Maggie O鈥機onnor, whose performances blend classical training with American roots traditions.

鈥淲e will honor 250 years of America by performing music by American composers with an American soloist, Mark O鈥機onnor,鈥 said Dr. Patricia Sparti, conductor of the Gardner Webb University Orchestra. 鈥淗e is the greatest jazz violinist, bluegrass fiddler and American musician of this generation. We will also honor veterans during the program.鈥

Tickets for 鈥淎merica at 250! A Celebration!鈥 are $15 and free for all students and Gardner鈥慦ebb faculty and staff.

Few living musicians embody the breadth, innovation and spirit of American music quite like Mark O鈥機onnor. Grammy鈥憌inning folk icon James Taylor once said of him, 鈥淭here鈥檚 something about that guy鈥檚 touch. I think he is to music what Muhammad Ali is to boxing.鈥 Yo鈥慪o Ma echoed that sentiment, praising both O鈥機onnor鈥檚 mastery and restless creativity: 鈥淏etween thought and execution there are no impediments, zero. But what really interests me is that this is a person in constant development, hungry to develop.鈥

That hunger has shaped one of the most singular careers in American music history. A four鈥憈ime Grand Masters Champion, O鈥機onnor was only 13 years old when he became the youngest person ever to win the Grand Master Fiddler Championships, an all鈥慳ges competition. His record still stands atop more than four decades later. Additionally, he remains the only musician to have won national championships on fiddle, bluegrass guitar, and mandolin.

Also a three-time Grammy winner and eight-time CMA Artist of the Year, O鈥機onnor is one of the most in鈥慸emand session musicians in the country. He has recorded on more than 500 albums and collaborated with artists ranging from Dolly Parton and Paul Simon to Randy Travis and The Judds.

Yet O鈥機onnor鈥檚 influence reaches far beyond the recording studio. Drawing equally from folk traditions and classical training, he has forged what many critics call a new American classical music. His works鈥攊ncluding the bestselling 鈥淎ppalachia Waltz,鈥 co鈥憆ecorded with Yo鈥慪o Ma and Edgar Meyer, and 鈥淭he American Seasons鈥濃攁re now staples of orchestral repertoires worldwide. His 鈥淔iddle Concerto鈥 remains the most鈥憄erformed modern violin concerto of the last 50 years.

Maggie and Mark O’Connor came to 猫咪头条 in 2024 for a Cleveland County Schools Orchestra day.

Maggie will share the stage with her husband. A violinist and vocalist, she is also a Grammy Award鈥憌inning artist whose career bridges classical virtuosity and American roots music with rare ease. Trained at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and the Aspen Music Festival and School, Maggie brings both technical command and expressive depth to every performance. Critics have praised her as 鈥渇ormidable鈥 and 鈥渟oulful,鈥 noting her uncanny musical connection with her husband on stage.

Maggie has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, appeared at Carnegie Hall鈥檚 Zankel Hall, and collaborated with artists including Paul Simon, B茅la Fleck, Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. In addition to performing, she is an educator and co鈥慸irector of the O鈥機onnor Method String Camps, helping shape the next generation of American string players. A visual artist as well, Maggie draws inspiration from the intersection of music, nature and imagination鈥攁n influence that resonates through her artistry.

The April 27 program reflects the sweeping story of American music, past and present. Highlights include the finale of Dvo艡谩k鈥檚 鈥淣ew World Symphony,鈥 Gershwin selections from 鈥淧orgy and Bess鈥 (arranged by Robert Russell Bennett), Copland鈥檚 iconic 鈥淗oedown from Rodeo,鈥 and Elgar鈥檚 鈥淧omp and Circumstance No. 4,鈥 performed in honor of Gardner鈥慦ebb University鈥檚 new president, Nate Evans.

The program also features 鈥淔aith鈥 from O鈥機onnor鈥檚 groundbreaking 鈥淚mprovised Violin Concerto,鈥 with Mark O鈥機onnor as soloist, as well as 鈥淪trings and Threads,” a piece he composed. Both Mark and Maggie will perform violin, guitar, and vocals on Mark’s arrangement of Stevie Wonder鈥檚 鈥淟ove鈥檚 in Need of Love Today.”

Together, the evening serves as both a tribute and a celebration鈥攈onoring America鈥檚 musical heritage while showcasing artists who continue to expand its possibilities.

Following the concert, Mark and Maggie O鈥機onnor will sell CDs, DVDs, shirts and jewelry and will sign autographs and take photos with audience members.

Honors Scholars Gain Experience Presenting Research Beyond the Classroom

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥斆ㄟ渫诽 University Honors Program students recently showcased their scholarship at the Southern Regional Honors Conference (SRHC), held in Montgomery, Ala. The annual conference brought together over 700 high-achieving students, along with faculty, and administrators from across the southern United States for three days of research presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities. More than 300 students and faculty shared their research through posters or podium presentations at the event.

Dr. Wilson Hawkins
Dr. Wilson Hawkins

鈥淗onors is more than coursework and thesis publications,鈥 noted Director of University Honors and Assistant Professor of Physics Dr. Wilson Hawkins. 鈥淭hrough conference travel our students build research projects, present to their peers, and network with other universities. Stepping out of your comfort zone, exploring new places, meeting new people, and building your resume is what it鈥檚 all about! I couldn鈥檛 be more proud of our students!鈥

Hosted by the Southern Regional Honors Council, the conference serves honors programs in 11 states and is the council鈥檚 signature event. The conference is distinctive in its student-centered focus, featuring original research and creative work across disciplines including STEM, social sciences, business, humanities, and the arts.

On the first day of the conference, the students toured Montgomery and learned about the historic city through a four-hour walking program called, 鈥淐ity as Text.鈥 They were guided through confederate and slave trade monuments, slave trade river ports, museums, etc. This included the Rosa Parks memorial, the Rosa Parks Museum, the first Confederate States of America Capital monuments and buildings, and The Legacy Museum.

The 猫咪头条 Honors Students took a walking tour of Montgomery, Ala.

On the second and third days, students attended the Graduate School Fair to network and learn about the programs offered at several graduate schools. Also on these days, students presented their research.

Among the student presenters was Abigail Lauerman of Fort Mill, S.C. A junior double majoring in psychology and theatre, she presented her poster, 鈥淐reative Pathways to Mental Health: The Importance of Music and Art Therapy.鈥 Lauerman鈥檚 research examined how these therapies can improve emotional resilience, reduce anxiety, and support overall mental health across different populations.

鈥淚 chose my research topic, because I am very interested in mental health and creative ways to support emotional well-being,鈥 Lauerman related. 鈥淎s someone who hopes to work with children as a child life specialist, I was especially drawn to music and art therapy because they offer nonverbal ways for individuals to express themselves.鈥

Lauerman said the opportunities she鈥檚 experienced in the 猫咪头条 Honors Program played a key role in preparing her to present at the academic conference. 鈥淏eing in the Honors Program has allowed me to challenge myself academically and grow as a student,鈥 she asserted. 鈥淧resenting my research helped me build confidence in public speaking, improve my communication skills, and connect with others who share similar academic interests.鈥

She also reflected on the supportive environment at 猫咪头条 and her involvement in the Honors Program. 鈥淢y experience at 猫咪头条 and in the Honors Program has been very rewarding,鈥 Lauerman said. 鈥淭he conference was a great opportunity to showcase my work and gain a deeper appreciation for the research process. I鈥檝e felt encouraged to step outside of my comfort zone, and I鈥檝e really enjoyed serving as the publicist for the Honors Program.鈥

Hannah White, a junior chemistry major from Bluefield, Va., presented 鈥淴-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry as a Non-Destructive Analysis Method of American Artifacts.鈥 Her research examined how X-ray fluorescence spectrometry can identify the elemental composition of artifacts, such as arrowheads, without damaging them.

鈥淧reservation of artifacts and forensic evidence is important,鈥 White explained. 鈥淴-ray fluorescence spectrometry is a non-destructive method of analysis. I chose this topic because I am interested in forensic science and new ideas for how to preserve evidence collected at crime scenes.鈥

She added that her project strengthened her interest in forensic science and future research. White said she values the professional experience and networking opportunities gained through participating in the Honors Conference.

Bella Harding Honors Conference
Bella Harding presented her research on Morphea Skin
Disease.

Another chemistry student, Taylor Sollie, a junior from Waynesville, N.C., presented 鈥淓xploration of Infrared Spectroscopy as a Potential Method to Identify Trace Evidence as Nail Polish.鈥 Sollie, who is majoring in chemistry with minors in biology and forensic science, tested infrared spectroscopy as a tool for identifying paint samples found at crime scenes.

鈥淚 chose this topic because I want to be a forensic chemist,鈥 she stated. 鈥淚 learned that the 16 nail polishes I tested鈥攁 variety of brands and kinds鈥攑roduced almost the exact same spectra. This showed that if an unknown paint chip is found, it can easily be identified as nail polish because it has a distinct spectrum.鈥

Emmy Bowen, a junior psychology and sociology major from Boiling Springs, presented research titled 鈥淐hildren and Divorce: What You Should Know.鈥 Her work focused on the psychological and sociological effects of post-divorce environments on children and highlighted potential interventions to support well-being.

鈥淭his topic doesn鈥檛 have a lot of research, even though a huge portion of the U.S. population is affected by it,鈥 Bowen observed. 鈥淚 wanted people to know about interventions and things that could possibly help children through a difficult time.鈥

Hodges McCeathern honors
Hodges McCathern was invited to share his research in
a podium presentation.

In the STEM and health sciences category, Hodges McCathern, a junior biochemistry major from Lexington, S.C., presented research connected to his honors thesis titled 鈥淓nvironmental Fate of DDT and Implications for Neurological Health.鈥 His work explores a potential link between exposure to DDT鈥攁 pesticide widely used during World War II鈥攁nd increased risk of Parkinson鈥檚 disease.

鈥淢y hope is that my research can help raise awareness about this issue and promote further study into the long-term effects of DDT and the causes of Parkinson鈥檚 disease,鈥 McCathern said.

Reflecting on his experience in Honors, he added, 鈥淭hrough the Honors Program, I have presented research at conferences from coast to coast. Getting to interact with people who are as passionate about their research as I am has been eye-opening and has helped me become more confident as I begin applying to medical school.鈥

By presenting research beyond the classroom, Gardner鈥慦ebb Honors students gained hands鈥憃n experience that complements their academic studies and reflects the University鈥檚 mission to equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and purpose needed to lead and serve in a rapidly changing world.

First-Year Nursing Major Shares How Donor Generosity Shapes her Experience

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥擥ifts made on 猫咪头条 University鈥檚 Double Dawg Day on Thursday, April 16, directly support the scholarships that help students succeed in the classroom and beyond. On this day, the GWU community will unite to support scholarships, academic programs, athletics and the hands-on experiences that shape the student journey.

Amber Jimenez copy

Such generosity is especially meaningful to first-year nursing major Amber Jimenez. Her scholarship allows her to advance toward her goals with confidence. She hopes donors will continue to support students like her. 鈥淵our donations, big or small, have a powerful impact and influence on all the students at 猫咪头条,鈥 Jimenez emphasized. 鈥淭he donations allow students like me to further our educations and grow as people.鈥

Jimenez first learned about 猫咪头条 when representatives visited her high school. She said the University鈥檚 size, location and emphasis on hands-on learning appealed to her. Once on campus, she discovered a faculty invested in her success. 鈥淢y professors are very supportive and helpful, giving me words of encouragement,鈥 she praised. 鈥淓very faculty and staff member that I have met at 猫咪头条 has had an impact on me.鈥

Among the faculty members who have shaped her experience, Jimenez said Emily Coggins, nursing instructor and clinical coordinator, has been especially instrumental. 鈥淪he has taught me that although I am in the nursing program, I should still be able to enjoy and not miss out on important and special things in my life,鈥 Jimenez reflected.

Her passion for nursing comes from a long-standing desire to serve others. 鈥淚 want to help people and make a positive impact in this world,鈥 Jimenez stated. 鈥淏ecoming a nurse will help me reach that goal.鈥 She plans to pursue a career as either a nurse practitioner (NP) or certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) and hopes to continue her education in graduate school.

Jimenez said she has also found meaningful support in her closest friendships. 鈥淢y biggest support at 猫咪头条 has been my roommate and best friend,鈥 she said. 鈥淓very huge milestone that I have had here at GWU, she was always there to witness it.鈥

One of her most meaningful experiences has been connecting with donors during Philanthropy Week. 鈥淚 was able to build such a meaningful and beautiful relationship with one of the donors and to this day, we are still in contact,鈥 Jimenez said. 鈥淚 am so grateful, blessed and honored to say this school has given me several opportunities to grow into the person I have always wanted to be.鈥

Stories like Jimenez鈥檚 reflect the heart of Double Dawg Day鈥攕tudents whose opportunities, confidence and futures are strengthened by donor generosity. As the 猫咪头条 community prepares for April 16, each gift helps ensure that more students can learn, grow and pursue their goals with the support they need to thrive.

Campus Events Highlight the Impact of Donors on the Student Experience

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥擳hrough fun activities, storytelling, and visible reminders placed across campus, 猫咪头条 University will celebrate Philanthropy Week on April 13鈥16. The observance is designed to help students understand how philanthropy鈥攖he voluntary giving of time, talent, or financial resources to others颅鈥攊mpacts their time at GWU. The initiative ends with Double Dawg Day, inviting alumni, families, and friends to join the GWU community in supporting students through gifts of every size.

Director of Alumni and Parent Relations Shannon Hovis helps coordinate the event. 鈥淓very gift to 猫咪头条 tells a story of generosity and a deep belief in our students,鈥 Hovis asserted. 鈥淒uring Philanthropy Week, we celebrate the alumni, parents, and friends whose support opens doors, creates opportunities, and strengthens the 猫咪头条 experience for every student.鈥

Throughout the week, students will explore how donor generosity has influenced the spaces, programs, and opportunities available to them at GWU. Outside select buildings, signs will share the stories behind those gifts and the individuals who made them possible. These stories reflect decades of commitment to Christian higher education.

For example, the Tucker Student Center stands as a testament to the generosity of Robert and Carolyn Tucker, who offered their gift with the purpose of glorifying God. The Stewart family鈥檚 longtime support echoes their belief that a university should embody excellence, integrity, and strong Christian values. The Godbold family invested in mission-driven programs and scholarships to strengthen the University鈥檚 Christ-centered mission, while Dr. Jack and Ruby Hunt鈥檚 passion for nursing paved the way for the Hunt School of Nursing.

The Dover family and their foundation supported several campus buildings and spaces, including the John R. Dover Jr. Memorial Chapel, a cherished place of worship anchoring the University鈥檚 Christian heritage. And in the 1930s, E.B. Hamrick provided crucial support that helped sustain Boiling Springs Junior College鈥攖oday鈥檚 猫咪头条 University鈥攄uring a time of need.

These stories鈥攁nd many more鈥攄emonstrate that philanthropy touches every part of campus life and continues to provide opportunities for future generations of students.

Longtime Head Coach Reflects on Championships, Growth, and the Student-Athletes who Shaped the Runnin鈥 Bulldogs鈥 Success

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥斆ㄟ渫诽 men鈥檚 tennis coach Mike Griffith reached a significant milestone in his tenure with the Runnin鈥 Bulldogs, recording his 200th career victory while being a member of the Big South Conference. The historic win came over Converse College on Feb. 28.

Griffith, who is retiring after 23 seasons at 猫咪头条, is recognized as the third winningest coach in the history of the Big South Conference. Having built one of the league鈥檚 most consistent and respected programs, he is a four-time Coach of the Year. As the program approaches its final season of competition, his impact will remain a lasting part of 猫咪头条 athletics history.

Griffith became the head men鈥檚 tennis coach in 2003 during 猫咪头条鈥檚 first Division I season. The program competed in the A-Sun Conference until 2008, recording some wins before joining the Big South Conference in 2009.

鈥淚 will always remember the day I interviewed for the position with former AD Chuck Burch,鈥 Griffith reflected. 鈥淪o much activity was happening that day with so many athletic teams practicing. I knew right then I wanted to be at GWU and this was the perfect job for me. I was meant to be a coach.鈥

In 2019, 猫咪头条 claimed its first regular-season conference championship, finishing 7-1 in league play. 鈥淭he conference had the finest No. 1 players ever, with UNCA having an eventual Grand Slam winner at Wimbledon and the Australian Open,鈥 Griffith observed. 鈥淥ur No. 1 player, Maximilian Scholl, then went 20-1, and his only defeat was to the defending national champion from Wake Forest.鈥

Griffith also led the Runnin鈥 Bulldogs to back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time in program history, compiling a 29-6 conference record over the past six seasons. The program captured its first-ever Big South Tournament Championship in 2025, earning an NCAA Tournament berth and capping a historic campaign.

The men's tennis team poses after winning the Big South Conference.

鈥淚 remember some of the wins, but what motivated me was the losses,鈥 Griffith shared. 鈥淚t drove me to get better and work harder. One of the hardest defeats we鈥檝e ever had was losing in the finals in 2024. The team and I worked hard to make sure that never would happen again, and thankfully we won it all in 2025.鈥

Under Griffith鈥檚 leadership, 猫咪头条 has consistently competed among the conference鈥檚 top teams, earning multiple postseason appearances and producing numerous All-Conference selections. His teams have been known for their depth, discipline, strong doubles play, and ability to close out matches on the singles courts.

This year鈥檚 team currently sits atop the Big South standings. 鈥淲e are 12-3 and need one more conference win to clinch the regular-season championship,鈥 Griffith said. 鈥淭his is a team and a group who will go their separate ways after this season. Their character and willpower motivate me, and my goal is to send them out as champions.鈥

A former standout at Winthrop, Griffith played in 1987 for Cid Carvalho, the second winningest coach in Big South Conference history.

Beyond wins and accolades, Griffith鈥檚 influence has extended far beyond the court. His players have consistently excelled academically while representing 猫咪头条 with pride throughout their collegiate careers.

Campus Events Focus on Education, Advocacy, and Solidarity with Survivors

猫咪头条 University鈥檚 Office of Student Development will recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month throughout April with a series of educational programs and awareness events. For 25 years, Sexual Assault Awareness Month has united survivors, advocates, and communities in a shared commitment to ending sexual assault, abuse, and harassment through education, prevention, and support.

Vice President of Student Development and Dean of Students Lesley Villarose, who also serves as the University鈥檚 interim Title IX coordinator, emphasized the importance of intentionally observing the month and engaging the campus community in meaningful ways.

鈥淗onoring Sexual Assault Awareness Month means choosing to see, to listen, and to act鈥攂ecause every voice matters, every story deserves dignity, and every community has a responsibility to create a culture of respect, consent, and accountability,鈥 Villarose emphasized.

Building on this commitment, 猫咪头条 will host a variety of programs and initiatives this mont aimed at fostering awareness, education, and open dialogue around sexual violence, prevention efforts, and available campus resources.

Monthlong Book Display at Dover Library

猫咪头条鈥檚 Dover Library will host a book display featuring books and educational resources focused on sexual violence awareness, prevention, consent, and survivor support. Vice President for Enrollment Management Dr. Lauren W. Gullett Reflects on Faithful Leadership Shaped by Family, Resilience, and Stewardship

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥擶omen鈥檚 History Month honors the mothers, mentors, and history鈥憁akers who shaped lives and opened doors for generations. At Gardner鈥慦ebb University, that legacy continues through the women who lead across campus, including five members of the GWU president鈥檚 cabinet. Throughout the month, they will share their stories, reflecting on the opportunities women have today and those who guided them along the way.

The following reflection is from Vice President for Enrollment Management Dr. Lauren W. Gullett.

Dr. Lauren W. Gullett

Career highlights:

  • More than a decade in higher education leadership.
  • Previously served as vice president for enrollment at Milligan University, a faith-based liberal arts institution in northeastern Tennessee.
  • After stepping out of vocational ministry, she spent several years working in public relations and marketing before returning to Emmanuel Christian Seminary in 2014 as director of admissions and interim head coach of the women鈥檚 flag football team in its second year.
  • Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, and Culture, Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Master of Divinity, Christian Doctrine, Emmanuel Christian Seminary
  • Ph.D., Organizational Leadership, Columbia International University

Gullett shares her thoughts on Women鈥檚 History Month.

Women鈥檚 History Month gives me an opportunity to reflect with gratitude. I was raised in a home where hard work, independence, and integrity were expected of both daughters. My parents modeled what it looks like to build something together, whether that was restoring cars in the garage or taking on major projects side-by-side. My mom, in particular, showed me what steady, faithful work looks like over a lifetime as she juggled working full time outside of the home with making home-cooked meals and never missing one of my many high school soccer, basketball, softball, and baseball, or club softball games.

At the same time, I grew up simply pursuing the things I loved. One of the most formative experiences in my life was trying out for and making my high school varsity boys baseball team. I didn鈥檛 see it as making a statement, I just loved the game and wanted to challenge myself. That experience taught me resilience at a young age. I am deeply grateful for Coach Fritts who made space for me to contribute as a player on the team and affirmed that I had earned my place. Years later, he shared with me the grief he鈥檇 endured but staunchly defended his choice of extending me a roster spot in a time when it was taboo for a girl to play on a team with boys.

As I鈥檝e grown older, I have developed a deeper appreciation for the women who came before me, including my Nana, who stepped into the workforce out of necessity and faithfully provided for her family through incredibly difficult circumstances. My Mom鈥檚 and my Nana鈥檚 lives remind me that strength often looks quiet, steady, and enduring.

Today, as a mother, I carry that forward. I want my children to know they can fully step into who they are created to be, using their gifts with confidence and humility.

Lauren Gullett baseball DSC

My greatest examples of leadership began at home. My Nana demonstrated resilience and faith in the face of hardship, raising six children after the unexpected loss of her husband. Even into her later years, her work ethic and perseverance have never wavered. My mom modeled excellence and integrity in every area of her life. She worked her way from an entry-level role to leading medical practices, all while serving her family and community with remarkable consistency. Watching her showed me that leadership is not about titles, it is about how you show up every day.

Along my professional journey, I did not work for many women in leadership roles. But I am grateful to have been deeply shaped by male mentors who saw potential in me and chose to invest in it.

Dr. Tom Jones, one of my seminary professors, encouraged me to step into leadership at a time when I struggled to see a clear path forward. He created opportunities for me to lead, speak, and grow, often before I felt ready. His belief in me was formative.

Dr. Wetzel, president of the seminary, once called me at home about an opportunity at a church in Arizona. He acknowledged that they were likely expecting to hire a man but told me he believed I was the right person for the role, a role I applied and was hired for. That moment stayed with me. It was a powerful reminder of what it means to advocate for others based on calling and capability.

Bill Greer, my former president at Milligan University, modeled a leadership style I strive to carry forward, one where he cared deeply to listen to and serve the people he led. He promoted me to vice president for enrollment, always balancing high expectations with extending trust and encouragement. He consistently gave credit to others and led with integrity, even in challenging moments.

Each of these individuals helped shape how I lead today, with a focus on developing others, stewarding responsibility well, and creating space for people to step into their potential.

I have had the privilege of working in environments where leadership opportunities were extended based on readiness, capability, and trust. For that, I am deeply grateful. Over time, I have seen more women serving as faculty, deans, vice presidents, and university presidents. That visible presence matters, not for recognition alone, but because it broadens what others can envision for themselves.

Gullett with Bo

At the same time, I have come to view leadership less through the lens of gender and more through the lens of stewardship. The responsibility we carry in higher education is significant. We are shaping institutions that impact students, families, and communities for generations.

For me, the goal is not simply representation, but faithful leadership, leading with integrity, humility, and a commitment to developing others well. When that happens, opportunities continue to expand naturally for those who are prepared to step into them.

I see mentoring as both a responsibility and a privilege. My experiences, especially as a working parent, have shaped how I lead. I understand the complexity people carry into their work, and I try to lead with both clarity and compassion. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to leadership, and I strive to meet people where they are while helping them grow.

I am intentional about encouraging others, particularly young professionals, to recognize their strengths and continue developing them. I want people to feel seen, supported, and challenged in the right ways.

As a leader, I also try to create an environment where individuals can do their best work without feeling they have to choose between their professional responsibilities and their personal lives. That perspective has been shaped by my own journey, and it is something I care deeply about carrying forward.

I would encourage young women to focus on becoming who they are uniquely created to be. Work hard. Continue learning. Be willing to step into opportunities that stretch you. At the same time, stay grounded in your values and your sense of purpose.

If you hope to build both a career and a family, choose relationships that support that vision. One of the greatest gifts in my life has been my husband, Jared, who has consistently encouraged me to pursue opportunities and grow, even when it required sacrifice.

Life and leadership both involve seasons. There will be times when one area requires more of you than another. That is not failure, it is part of the journey.

Above all, lead with integrity, stay humble, and remain open to where you are being called next.
